In this recipe, we skipped the tomato sauce, instead using a creamy pesto base with fresh garlic for extra flavour and nutrients. This recipe is a great way to get kids involved in cooking, which makes them more open to trying the finished meal! It only takes about ten minutes to prep and adults will enjoy it too.

 

Here are the ingredients:

1 shop bought pizza base

2 tbsp Pesto

2 tbsp Cream cheese

400g white mushrooms

1 garlic clove 

Fresh basil leaves (optional)

 

Instructions 

  1. Get you child to help you lay out all of the ingredients 
  2. Begin chopping the mushrooms and give them an age appropriate knife and let them help
  3. Together, spread the cream cheese and pesto over the pizza base
  4. Fry you chopped mushroom and garlic for five minutes
  5. Scatter the cooked mushrooms evenly on the pizza
  6. Season, then bake in the oven for 10/15 minutes, until golden
  7. Add fresh basil (if wanted!) and you’re done!
